南東側より見る噴気活動が活発な硫黄岳山頂火口南側のピットクレータ−（竪穴状火孔）。火孔底がわずかに見える。1997年から2003年にかけて形成、拡大した。背景中央が硫黄岳の山頂。この3日後に山頂火口で小規模な噴火がおこった。2019年10月30日撮影。
