西表島北北東海底火山 ______ Submarine Volcano NNE of Iriomote Jima

1924年海底噴火の軽石は、海流にのって1年の間に日本各地の沿岸に漂着した。噴火地点は図の左下の「x」だが、近年の海底調査でも該当する海山・海丘あるいは海底カルデラは特定されていない。

Pumice fragments generated by submarine eruption in 1924 drifted ashore on coast all over Japan in a year. The "x" shows the submarine volcano.
