| 火山の概要・補足事項 | 姶良カルデラの後カルデラ火山。最高峰は北岳（御岳）。有史後の山頂噴火はすべて南岳でおこっている。2008年頃からは南岳山頂火口よりも昭和火口の噴火が活発になったが、2018年になると活動中心が南岳山頂火口に変わる。噴火様式はブルカノ式噴火のみでなく、ストロンボリ式噴火や連続火山灰放出もおこっている（2017年8月下旬以降、ストロンボリ式に近い様式の非爆発的噴火が観察されるようになる）。 |
