   The 1st edition of the geological map of Usu Volcano (Soya et al., 1981) was revised from Ota (1956) and Katsui, Oba and Ono (attached to Yokoyama et al., 1973) with additions of data obtained or compiled by the authors at that time. The 2nd edition is based on the 1st edition and description of the 2000 eruption and some other revisions are added.

   Many references are available for Usu Volcano and this article was compiled incorporating those data. Major sources of the revision to the 2nd edition are shown here.
