Jury 18, 2023 New satellite image registration, which was suspended on October 14, 2022, was re-started.

October 14, 2022 New satellite image registration acquired after November 10 was stopped due to Ground Data Processing failure.

September 2, 2019 ASTER images observed after July 7, 2019 were orthorectified with GDEM version 3 (ASTGTMV003).

July 17, 2019 New satellite image registration, which was suspended on February 6, 2018, was re-started.

February 6, 2018 New satellite image has not being added because of network trouble at AIST.

October 3, 2016 The Image Database for Volcanoes was proved under a CC BY 4.0 Intl. However, there were no restrictions on ASTER data downloaded from Image Database for Volcanoes.

September 1, 2016 Nighttime SWIR hotspot information, which was not displayed due to a software bug, was displayed.

February 1, 2015 The links to the Smithsonian Global Volcanism Program were updated.

May 20, 2014 version 3.0 was released.

April 24, 2013 The GSJ logo was added to each volcano page.

March 21, 2013 Service was moved to the new server at gbank.gsj.jp.

July 6, 2011 New satellite image registration, which was suspended on March 11, 2011, was re-started.

September 14, 2009 A breadcrumb navigation was added.
